Mexican XL Hammock "Señora"
Woven just as they were hundreds of years ago, our Mexican XL Hammock "Señora" is crafted in the Chiapas region of southern Mexico. Far from factories and manufacturing machines, this XL hammock was hand-woven by small family communities who preserve ancestral manufacturing techniques, taught from generation to generation. If you're interested, take a look at the page explaining the manufacturing process of our Mexican hammocks.
Mexican XL Hammock "Señora" 100% nylon: Our hammock withstands all climates
100% Nylon (The material used for fishing nets): The only material that allows you to leave your hammock outdoors, summer and winter, without having to bring it inside! Our Hammock can withstand extreme climates and is not afraid of frost, rain, or sun. However, for greater care and durability, it is recommended to store it sheltered after use. Its thick thread and 156-cord arms are the ingredients for a Hammock that will last for years.
Reinforced rings for a durable hammock
Hammock rings are the most stressed elements due to use (swinging, weight, movements). That's why we decided to reinforce these rings with loop protectors inside. They serve to strengthen the rings, thereby improving the resistance and safety of your hammock. This is one of the fundamental differences compared to other Mexican hammocks you can find on the market.
Strap kit adapted to our Mexican hammocks
We specifically designed this strap kit to fit these wider rings, thanks in particular to a premium carabiner. This strap set is designed to avoid damaging tree bark, unlike ropes which can harm it. The straps are made of polyester, resistant to rain, frost, and sun. The carabiner has a maximum opening to fit our rings equipped with buckle protectors.
The advantages of the Mexican nylon hammock: Comfort and resistance
More and more Mexicans prefer 100% Nylon Hammocks, despite their higher cost. Why this choice? Unlike cotton, which can be damaged by prolonged exposure to sun and rain, the Nylon Hammock offers increased durability while maintaining almost identical comfort. In the southern regions of Mexico, where temperatures are high almost all year round, the Hammock has become a daily substitute for the traditional bed due to its airy design.
The hammock culture: An ode to idleness
The hammock is often associated with rest, relaxation, and leisure. It symbolizes idleness and is often linked to the idea of people passively waiting for something to happen, lying in the cool air.
In "hammock culture," schedules, work constraints, obligations, and deadlines are seen as negative aspects of the "system." The idea of improving oneself compared to one's neighbor, succeeding by one's own merit, or exceeding the limits imposed by city life and material comfort is not even considered. The hammock excludes all these perspectives.
By adopting a contemplative attitude, one can become a simple observer and not act. Feeling, experiencing are aspects of the hammock that we invite you to try.
