Are you looking for an exceptional hammock? Choose the QUEEN MAYA! With its high-quality weave and vibrant colors, this sturdy Mexican hammock offers absolute comfort. It stands out with its woven net arms, reinforced with artisanal ties for increased strength. Each QUEEN MAYA requires ten to fifteen days of meticulous work.

An extra-large Mexican hammock

With a width of 2.20 meters, the QUEEN MAYA offers unparalleled freedom of movement. Designed to accommodate 2 to 3 people, this model benefits from additional reinforcement thanks to a greater quantity of thread in its fabric. The result? An even more comfortable hammock, capable of accommodating more guests. Its generous size also allows for a varied color palette.

Ancestral Mexican tradition

Our Mexican hammocks, made in Chiapas, in southern Mexico, perpetuate a century-old tradition. They are handmade by artisan families, using ancestral methods passed down from generation to generation. Previously, the Chiapas region was renowned for its production of Ixtle and Henequen, used to make the first hammocks.

A Mexican nylon hammock: the guarantee of an outdoor hammock

Made from 100% Nylon, the same material used in fishing nets, our hammock resists bad weather. It can withstand the most extreme conditions, from frost to rain to sun. To preserve its quality, we recommend storing the hammock indoors after use. In winter, store it inside the house rather than outdoors or in a garage. It is also advisable to wash it at least once a year to prevent dust mites from settling in. In Mexico and Brazil, where people often use their hammocks as their main bed, they are washed every two weeks.

The Mexican hammock: the best choice for outdoors

The Mexican Nylon Hammock is the preferred choice for outdoor use. Unlike cotton, which can be damaged by prolonged exposure to sun and rain, Nylon offers superior durability, while ensuring similar comfort. In the hot regions of Mexico, it is used daily as an alternative to a bed, offering optimal ventilation to combat the heat. Do you like our XXL QUEEN MAYA hammocks? When hammocks tie marital bonds

In terms of marriage, many indigenous communities in Latin America do not ritualize it. The fiancé or fiancée joins their spouse at their home, setting up their hammock near theirs. Sometimes, at first, they use a larger hammock to accommodate both of them.

In case of separation, it is enough to remove the hammock. However, in the case of a ritualized marriage, the hammock can have particular importance. In Ka'apor in eastern Brazil, marriage is officially announced by the village chief while the couple is seated in a hammock, their heads wrapped in fabric. In the Caribbean region, the hammock has also been used as a dowry.

Did you know?

Hammocks have the ability to adapt to the position of the person resting in them, creating a unique relaxation experience. It is therefore not surprising to feel a certain discomfort when using a hammock that does not belong to you.
